Crisis Centre for Victims of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking

The Crisis Centre is a social service of residential type with a capacity of 8 places, where 24-hour care and monitoring of the needs of the clients is provided for a period of 1 to 6 months. The social service is based on social work and is aimed at supporting the assisted persons to carry out their daily activities and to integrate socially.

Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for Children and Youth

The Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration is a complex of hourly services with short-term /up to 6 months/ and long-term duration /up to 1 year/, aimed at supporting the individual development, maintenance and acquisition of new abilities and independence of children and young people with different types and degrees of disability, as well as support for people at risk through targeted activities for integration and prevention of social exclusion.

Counselling centre for victims of domestic violence

The Counselling Centre provides services and counselling to directly assist victims of domestic violence.

 

  • Community Support Centre - a complex of social services for children and families. Objectives:  
    o prevention of abandonment of children and their placement in specialized institutions
    o prevention of violence and school drop-out
    o deinstitutionalisation and reintegration of children
    o training in independent living skills and social integration of children from institutions
    o counselling and support for families at risk
    o assessment, training and support for foster and adoptive parents

Services are oriented to the individuality and specific needs of the child/person to build and develop self-help skills, social inclusion and personal development to overcome trauma and include:

Dignita Foundation is an organization working in the field of prevention of human trafficking and support for empowerment of victims. Dignita provides counselling to refugees in Bulgaria who:

  • Are at potential risk of trafficking or exploitation;
  • need counselling for a specific risk situation they or their relatives are in;
  • want to report a potential case of trafficking or exploitation;
  • want to be able to recognise potential risks and learn how to avoid trafficking or exploitation

The social services provided as a Complex of specialized social services in the towns of Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad and Svilengrad are:

Informing and counselling people who are victims of domestic violence, or victims of trafficking in human beings, perpetrators of violence and other groups at risk about existing options for overcoming the problems they face

The aim is to provide a safe space where the victim can share their experiences, minimising the impact of the violence they have experienced.

Advocacy and mediation 

As part of the service, an officer accompanies the victim to the institution/organisation to which he/she is referred, assists him/her in communicating with various institutions.

Support and care activities for service users are dependent on their specific needs and oriented to their best interests and may include:

"Therapy and rehabilitation" of people victims of domestic violence, or victims of human trafficking, perpetrators of violence and other groups at risk of existing opportunities to overcome the problems encountered. It is a set of different activities to develop, restore, maintain or improve social skills, communication, resolution of emotional conflicts, behaviour management, reduction of anxiety, improvement of self-esteem, work opportunities, etc., as well as socialisation activities for persons at high risk of social exclusion.

The organization provides social and psychological consultancy; individual and group therapeutic and informational sessions on the topic of gender abuse; healthcare consultations, attendance, welfare aid and advocacy

 

Integratory activities and attendance by Mission Wings

The Foundation offers Bulgarian language courses, levels A1 and A2 for refugees in Stara Zagora; job-search assistance

Therapeutic work and Blue Room Mission Wings

Therapeutic work and Blue Room – for a child-friendly hearing of children victims of abuse; attendance to the psychiatric ward –priority groups are those of mother with children and heavily traumatized people
